Creating a delightful, innovative publishing experience that users hadn't seen before was a challenge our team at Fox Sports Australia was excited to tackle. What type of consumption was the most likely to lead to subscription?

Which was more valuable to the business: a user that searched with intent for a short period of time or a user that mindlessly scrolled for a long period of time?

What we did

• After 5 years on the market our old Fox Sports app was starting to become dated and no longer served the best interests of the company and its users.
• The business decided to rebuild the flagship app from the ground up on both iOS & Android, all while leveraging the same APIs used across Web.
• We began this project in late 2018.

What I was responsible for

• As the Principal Product Designer, I was was able to drive every stage of the design process from discovery & workshop facilitation to design system implementation, hi-fidelity UI design and developer hand-off.
• I worked very closely with business & editorial stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• As well as very closely with the development team to understand constraints, opportunities & to ensure that the best possible experience was delivered to our customers.
